Digital Control Eresco MF3 for Portable X-Ray Tube Heads
The Digital Control ERESCO MF3 features modern 20 kHz medium frequency power electronics. It is a microprocessor-control designed using up-to-date SMD technology. The operational status is viewed on a large back lit LCD display to allow easy viewing even under the most difficult light conditions. The operating parameters of voltage, current, and exposure time can be entered directly via keypad or retrieved from 250 user-programmable exposure programs. In power operation, the maximum tube current is set, minimizing exposure times. The integrated real-time clock enables a fully automated warm-up of the radiating unit relative to past operational intervals. The control unit recognizes type and serial number of the x-ray tube head that it is connected to for optimum protection of the x-ray tube. For service purposes, the operating parameters of the last 128 events are recorded. The control features two safety circuits and one serial computer interface. For use on construction sites etc. an optional separate warning flash lamp with "FAIL-SAFE CIRCUIT" is offered.

Portable X-Ray - Eresco MF3 Overview
With the ERESCO MF3 line, mobile x-ray inspection becomes lighter in the true sense of the word.
By using the latest technology components combined with innovative circuitry, the weight of the ERESCO control was reduced by almost 40% compared to the MF2 series. The compact design of the tube heads has also lead to a weight reduction.
The robust construction of the control and the tube heads make them suitable for hostile environments (IP65).
Due to its low power consumption, not only the energy cost is kept low, also, operation with portable power supplies is made easier.
Special power electronics allow for an alternative operation in the field as well as integration in crawlers.
Even with their low weight, the new tube heads comply with the strict requirements of the European x-ray regulations.
Highlights:
- Easy handling as it is the lightest 200 kV DC portable available on the market world wide
- Shortest exposure time due to real DC output
- High current power mode (up to 10 mA) and low energy application (starting from 5 kV)
- Operation possible also under adverse weather conditions like rain (IP 65)
- Long tube life due to proven intelligent automatic warm up
Improved protection of fan and tube (from overheating) by correct air flow direction of the fan (air-intake not from the bottom of the tube head to avoid contamination with dirt being drawn into the fan and the cooling fins)
Features:
- Further improved stability of the tube head by new robust design
- Easy handling and positioning of the tube head on pipes due to new V-shaped rubberized carrying rings
- Superior use for weld inspection of pipe bends by very short distance between tube head end and focus
- Easier handling and transportation due to light-weight cable as well as further reduced volume and weight of tube head
- Crane lifting only by using one carrying ring Longer operation time at high ambient temperature (100% duty cycle at 30°C)
